Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!]
Strength: I have been running the 8150 FX AMD chip and AMD Radeon HD 7990 on this MB. Been working long hard hours as my entertainment unit. ASUS came out with a strong product for a good price with this one. I may only be junking this board to move to a board that supports the new 220W chips.
Weakness: no 220W support

Poor Customer Service - 01/09/2014 15:43:37
Rating: [1 of 5 Stars!]
Strength: Lasted 1 year, maybe
Weakness: I purchased the previous generation motherboard, the M5A97 EVO approximately 18 months ago. After about 6 months, the BIOS screen enlarged and could not be viewed on my monitor. I could not set my boot priority as that portion of the screen was blocked out. I also lost my second hard drive as it became unreadable. I kept hoping somehow this situation would correct itself but it did not. My computer continued to work with my main hard drive but slowed down. All data on my second hard drive was gone. I finally decided to go to ASUS for an RMA replacement. They wanted the serial number. I suppose they need certain information before a replacement is sent but I had to tell the fellow the motherboard was still working in a fashion and I would not disassemble my entire computer to verify the number on the box which I had provided. I received a replacement which I believe to be a remanufactured product and so far it is working fine. I can understand and live with the $10 processing charge by ASUS but it cost me $32.97 to ship the board back within the required timeframe. I have been on ASUS's LIVECHAT but as to why the shipping charge, the only response is that is the policy. I don't think that is right for a DEFECTIVE product under warranty. Also, I asked the ASUS representative for his/her position in the company and why ASUS does not have a toll free phone number for North America. The representative did not respond. ASUS has much to learn about customer service and should have their representatives able to answer questions that are not on the 3 x 5 answer card in front of them. The company is cheap for not having a toll free phone line as I and probably many others like to TALK to a real person.
Again, I stress my motherboard was of the previous generation to this one, but I will not buy another motherboard manufactured by ASUS. If they would refund my purchase price + shipping cost, I would send it back right now. I am not satisfied
Summary: Very dissatisfied with ASUS on my motherboard issue. I also own an ASUS monitor and DVD burner of which I am satisfied. Do not understand why ASUS will not acknowledge that every motherboard manufactured is not perfect.
