This 4-port transmitter, when used in conjunction with receivers (not included), allows an HDMI signal to be extended over a Cat5/Cat5e/Cat6 cable to up to four connected monitors or up to sixteen monitors by daisy-chaining receivers and additional transmitters. This system can extend a signal up to 300ft without signal degradation at 1920x1200 or 1920x1080 resolutions. This solution is compatible with any operating system and is truly plug and play with no drivers or software required. The receivers come in either wall plate or boxes and are interoperable, providing a choice in the form factors that are best suited for the application. The 4-Port HDMI over Cat5 Box Transmitter features buttons on the front of the unit that allow the content to the connected receivers and displays to be temporarily disabled. The ports may be disabled individually as a button is provided for each of the Cat5 output ports. This feature allows the user to edit content through a monitor connected to the local HDMI output of the transmitter without displaying content at the remote locations. HDBaseT technology allows the Extended Display Identification Data (EDID) signals, i.e. communication of the capabilities of the display, to pass through the extension solution ensuring that the content from the source is sent at the optimal resolution for the display. The 4-Port HDMI over Cat5 Box Transmitter features four different modes of EDID communication to provide the best performance for the connected displays. The auto sync mode is ideal for situations where the displays are of the same make and model, or where the displays have identical performance characteristics. The three manual sync modes, Audio only, Video only and Audio and Video, utilize the EDID copy feature of the transmitter to store and use EDID information from a single monitor. This is ideal for situations where displays with different performance characteristics will be used. Copying and using the EDID information from the display with the lowest performance level will ensure that all displays are capable of receiving a signal.
