Strength: Looks cool; smooth sleek glossy metal; Front usb's and enough ports and bays. Has easy to install plug and play internal hard drives. Cable management is a breeze. the chassis has a 120mm fan for external venting and the eco-500w power supply is ok [as long as you don't install a graphics card that requires over 500w. Besides it "looking cool" thats all it is.
Weakness: When you actually install everything, you notice that there is not enough ventilation on the actual Case. We had to open the case up and provide additional fan support. The computer that we built is used on a day to day basic for home usage. but its so loud inside the case [because it generates so much heat]. There is not enough air flow because of the tight restrictions. Currently using the default CPU fan for the X4 Phenom II processor AMD 965 and even on auto/quiet mode, the case needs to be opened up. There's no room for it, you need to provide additional cooling for this case, otherwise, you'll be fooled as to "how good it actually is"
Summary: This unit didn't satisfy our needs. I read tons of mixed reviews and this is not something you want to spend $99 [at the time of writing] on. The case overheats and you'll have to provide external venting or take the case off because it gets so LOUD from the fanning or from the PC overheating. Not too sure about this "Sonata Quiet" - as it DOES NOT live up to the reputation of the brand. |
