Tech Care Setup - Terms and Conditions

  1. The term of the Tech Care Setup program commences upon the purchase of a qualifying item.
  2. Tech Care Setup is available for Windows based notebooks only.
  3. For a notebook to qualify it needs to be new, refurbished notebooks do not qualify.
  4. Eligibility date is 09/09/2021. Only notebooks purchased on or after this date will qualify. Any purchase before this date does not qualify for the Tech Care Setup program.
  5. Eligible customers must claim the ‘Free Initial Setup and Data Transfer service’ within 30 days from the purchase date.
  6. The Tech Care Setup service includes completing the setup options to initialize Windows, setting the date and time, a basic training if there are questions on how to use Windows, completing Windows updates and a data transfer from one (1) provided computer to the new notebook. It does not include additional services, for example, training on software other than Windows, creation of Windows recovery media, etc. The services that are not included can be done for additional charges.
  7. The data transfer only includes files and does not include the transfer or installation of software and programs. Examples of files that can be transferred are Office (Word, Excel, PPT), PDF, Videos, Music, Pictures etc.
  8. There is no limit to the data transfer, however the timeframe for the data transfer will depend on the amount of data provided to transfer. An estimate timeframe will be given when purchasing the notebook.
  9. The free optimization on the notebook is available once, up to 12 months after the purchase of the notebook.
  10. To claim the optimization, the notebook and original invoice must be presented to a Canada Computers Service Centre location.
  11. The Tech Care Setup program is only available to end users. Resellers and corporate customers are not eligible for this program.
