Great monitor for the price, but one somewhat serious flaw - 03/18/2013 09:15:50
Rating: [4 of 5 Stars!]
Strength: -Lots of real estate, easy on the eyes
-Nice and bright
-Thin and fairly light for the size
-LOTS of different input options, with Picture in Picture (that was a nice surprise)
-Good viewing angle and tilt options
-Lots of (but not too many) different colour modes, including sRGB (good for editing photos)
-Comes with VGA cable, DVI cable, and stereo 3.5mm patch cable
-Super-fast response time
Weakness: -A bit wobbly, the stand could definitely be a bit stronger
-Some fairly apparent light bleed (purplish tone) along the top and bottom edges (as if that's where the light is coming from) this is especially noticeable in a dark room
-Only 1920x1080 max. resolution (but you definitely can't expect higher for this price range)
Summary: I picked up this screen on sale for $269; for that price, the features and picture quality you get out of this monitor definitely outweigh the weaknesses.
Although, I have to say, the light bleed is pretty annoying when I'm watching TV or gaming at night, but I've only had it for a couple days so I'm sure I'll adjust to it. There could even be some picture adjustments I can make to reduce it, I'll have to play around with it a bit more.
Otherwise, I'm pretty happy with this purchase; I'd give it 3.5/5 stars, but 4/5 will do.
Great monitor. - 11/16/2011 18:01:44
Rating: [4 of 5 Stars!]
Strength: Lots of on-screen real estate for multiple windows, perfect color, good for graphic arts and game playing. Half the thickness of LCD monitors.
Weakness: This monitor is $15 cheaper at Staples and Canada Computers will not Price Match it.
Summary:
Superb LED monitor - 03/24/2011 15:44:42
Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!]
Strength: Bright picture - a little too bright with the default settings, I had to kick this down a notch. Crystal clear, no ghosting or wafting of colours or contrast towards the edges. Text is clean and crisp. Blu-ray movies look awesome. Gaming is superb.
Weakness: The stand could have been a little beefier, but it gets the job done. If I bump or rattle mydesk it'll wobble the monitor, which makes me a little nervous. I don't like the location of the adjustment buttons.
Summary: Picked up a pair of these on sale for $299 EA, moved up from 2 X 21" LCDs. Noticeable drop in powerage usage, and massive jump in real estate. One of the best buys I've made in a while. Also, if one of these monitors is hooked up via HDMI be prepared to calibrate them both, there are noticeable differences between the one on HDMI and the one on DVI (this is expected).
