Le nouveau siège situé au 168 Ultimate Drive est un terrain de 254,14 hectares au cœur de la ville de Richmond Hill, Ontario et disposera d’un siège social moderne et à la pointe de la technologie comprenant plus de 14 000 mètres carrés. L’établissement abritera également le principal centre de distribution d'Ordinateurs Canada qui desservira ses 42 emplacements et expansions futures.

Le DPG d’Ordinateurs Canada, Gordon Chan, et la directrice financière, Mary Chan, supervisent la cérémonie de la pose de la première pierre, ensemble avec le maire de la ville de Richmond Hill, David West, et le conseiller municipale, Castro Liu. De nombreux partenaires stratégiques d’Ordinateurs Canada ont également assisté à la célébration.

À tous nos chers clients d’Ordinateurs Canada,

En raison de la quantité disponible des cartes graphiques dans le marché, Ordinateurs Canada entreprend des mesures pour s’assurer que nos clients auront une opportunité équitable pour pouvoir acheter des cartes graphiques. Nous avons récemment reçu des stocks, mais nous ne les avons pas mis à la vente, car la mise en place de ces mesures a pris plus de temps que prévu.

Comme beaucoup dans la communauté sont au courant, nos clients ont rencontré des difficultés pour se procurer des cartes graphiques en raison d’un stock limité et d’une demande sans précédent. Ce problème s’aggrave encore plus à cause de certains individus qui profitent de la situation pour acheter notre stock limité à des fins de revente sur les marchés d’achat-vente pour obtenir un profit.

Pour régler ce problème, nous avons adopté une politique d’« une (1) carte par client » et nous avons mis en œuvre plusieurs mesures afin d’encourager un accès équitable. Ces mesures incluent :
a. L’annulation des commandes multiples ou des commandes en double placées par le même client.
b. Renforcer la protection du site web pour la détection des activités suspectes telles que les robots logiciels, scripts, etc.
c. Procéder à la vérification des numéros de téléphones cellulaires, nom de famille ainsi que les 4 derniers chiffres des cartes utilisées pour le paiement des acheteurs.

Il semble que ces mesures ont eu un impact limité sur ceux qui essaient de profiter de la situation. Bien que nous ne vérifiions pas habituellement nos clients, nous croyons qu’Ordinateurs Canada joue un rôle important dans la communauté et qu’il doit intervenir si nécessaire. À cette fin, nous mettrons en place des étapes supplémentaires pour assurer à nos clients une opportunité équitable pour acheter des cartes graphiques. Cela comprend la vérification d’adresse domiciliaire complète et le nom complet des clients avant qu’il puisse recevoir une carte graphique. Tout renseignement personnel recueilli sera utilisé uniquement pour assurer que tous nos clients peuvent acheter une seule carte graphique chez Ordinateurs Canada.

Nous travaillons fortement pour mettre en place ces nouvelles mesures et nous espérons qu’elles seront prêtes dans la semaine du 26 avril 2021. Hackapalooza will teach coding and web design skills to beginners of all ages; hosted by Ladies Learning Code with support from Canada Computers

(Markham, Ontario) - Ladies Learning Code, a non-profit group working to teach beginner-friendly technical skills to kids and adults, will be hosting Hackapalooza on June 7th and 8th at The Lab in Toronto, Ontario, with Canada Computers providing technical support.

Participants of all ages will try their hand at coding and web design during the two-day workshop, which will feature a comprehensive team of instructors and mentors to guide students through CSS, branding, and user experience skills. Held at The Lab, a 7000 square foot digital literacy hub in Toronto's downtown core, the Canada Computers team will be onsite providing equipment and technical support to both students and instructors out of an expert Tech Bench, which will also serve as a space for students to test out their work.
